"Large fire, Rosenstrasse 12, Musterhausen" is the alarm message that gets the members of the Musterhausen volunteer fire department out of bed early on Sunday morning. While the commander drives directly to the scene in the command vehicle, the chauffeurs move in via the magazine. Fire protective clothing is put on within a few seconds, the vehicles are filled and drive out with the alarm signal.
After a few minutes, the commander's voice is heard on the radio asking where the vehicles are. At the same time, the crew of the fire engine is surprised that there is no smoke to be seen.
Similar addresses have devastating consequences
Rosenstrasse 12 is located at the eastern end of the town of Musterhausen. At the other end of town is 12 Rosenweg. In this early morning hour, the driver confused the streets and moved out to Rosenweg. He is now about 10 minutes away from the scene with his fire engine and crew. The commander, on the other hand, is standing in front of a one-family house in full fire and has no tanker available.
